Shri Sohan Lal Sharma

Text Box: The Director of the Academy Shri. Sohan Lal Sharma, is also the Secretary of the Board of Governors. He was born in Village Tikkari of District Kullu. He passed his Matriculation examination from Govt. Senior Secondary School Arsu in the year 1975. He passed his Graduation from D.A.V. College Chandigarh and joined Law Department of Punjab University Chandigarh. He was in L.L.M. (Second Year) when he got selected in H.P. Judicial Service in 1983 and joined as Subordinate Judge on 01-02-1984. He was promoted to H.P. Higher Judicial Service from 18-12-2003 and remained posted as Presiding Officer Fast Track Court at Hamirpur upto April 2006. He was placed in regular cadre of Additional District and Sessions Judge from May 2006. He remained posted as Joint Director of H.P. Judicial Academy from December 2008 to till. March, 2009. He was made District and Sessions Judge w.e.f. 5-3-2009 and joined at Kullu on 12-3-2009. Presently he is holding the post of Director of H.P. Judicial Academy. He joined the post on 18-5-2009.

Text Box: Born on 10th March, 1958 at Village & P.O. Sandhu Tehsil Theog, District Shimla, passed Matriculation Examination from Public High School Sandhu. Graduated from Govt. Degree College, Shimla, obtained Degree in Law from Himachal Pradesh University, Shimla. Joined HP Judicial Service on 9-12-1988, remained posted as Sub Judge-cum– Judicial Magistrate and Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate/ Chief Judicial Magistrate in different districts in Himachal Pradesh. Promoted as Presiding Officer, Fast Track Court and joined as such at Ghumarwin on 26-10-2009. Promoted as Additional District & Sessions Judge on regular basis and posted as Joint Director, HPJA on 18-10-2010. Presently, holding Circuit Court as Additional Sessions Judge, Kinnaur at Rampur since 25-10-2010

Shri Rajesh Kumar Verma

Text Box: Born on 18.05.1976 at Varanasi, U.P., in the family of Dr. Ashok Ranjan Basu and Dr.(Mrs.) Anulekha Basu. Originally belonging to Nodia district of West Bengal but brought up in the beautiful hill State of Himachal Pradesh as her father, belonging to the Indian Administrative Service, was mostly posted at different parts of H.P. Schooling was mostly from convents. She did her 10+2, and graduation (B.Sc.) (Medical), from St.Bedes, College, Shimla. Thereafter, did her L.L.B(in the year 2000) Master's in Law (L.L.M) (In the year 2003)(Dissertation on 'Jurisprudence of cyber crime: Some Introspection') and Ph.D. In law (Topic of Thesis' Jurisprudence of legislative safeguards for senior citizens in India; A critical study with special reference to the State of Himachal Pradesh) , from Himachal Pradesh University, Shimla. She has done certificate course in Computer Applications and French. She had enrolled with the Indian Institute of Chartered Accountancy, New Delhi, & perusing the course before joining service. She has received many awards and certificates for painting, craft, flower decoration, and dance. She had been giving stage performances since the age of five year and has participated in school level, district level & national level cultural programmes and also given performance in Doordarshan. She has participated in various recitations, and declamation contests and has represented Himachal Pradesh University in moot Court competitions, held in Hyderabad in the year 2000. She is life member of Indian Red Cross Society, and member of WWF (World Wildlife Fund). Enrolled as member of Bar council of High Court of Himachal Pradesh in the month of September 2000. Joined Himachal Pradesh Judicial Service in the year 2003 and was given first posting as Civil Judge (Jr.Div.) -cum- Judicial Magistrate, Court No.IV, Shimla. She joined the post of Civil Judge (Jr.Div.) -Cum- JMIC, Court No.II, Una and held the post from 23.04.07 to 17.04.08. and also worked in the same capacity in Court no.III, Una, since 17.04.08 till 05.05.10 (F.N).From 05.05.10 till 07.06.10, she was posted as Civil Judge(Jr.Div.) cum JMIC II, Hamirpur, H.P and Civil Judge (Jr.Div.) -cum- JMIC I, Hamirpur, H.P from 07.06.10 to 09.07.10 . Presently posted as Deputy director Himachal Pradesh Judicial Academy from 12.07.10 onwards.
